I use ZoneAlarm, because it does so many things in one program

- Anti-virus
- On Demand
- Background Scanning
- Spy-ware
- On Demand
- Background Scanning
- Firewall
- E-mail Security
- Wireless Protection

Recently however it’s started to annoy me as I’ve had to start using some websites, and it blocks certain things

So what do you guys use and can anyone recommend a program better than ZoneAlarm that includes background scanning for spy-ware?

Ditch Zone Alarm. More trouble than it's worth, especially on early versions of Windows (e.g. '98). Norton these days appears next to useless, at least on Windows 2000.Highly recommend AVG anti-virus and Ad-Aware anti-spy as freebies. McAfee is currently the best commercial a/v software. Forget Sophos a/v, it tells lies, as does their Tech Support (Yes this may be libellous but I can back up the statement with evidence Your Honour). Not all anti-spyware programs catch everything so you might want to experiment with several.

I use 1, ZONE ALARM FIREWALL
2, AD WARE SE ANTI-SPY ETC.
3, EUSING REGISTRY CLEANER
4 ADVANCED WINDOWS CARE (GREAT!!)
5, SPYTBOT SEEK AND DESTROY (ANTI-SPY)
6, AVG ANTI VIRUS (it does everything itself, including
updates)
7 MOZILLA FIREFOX BROWSER. (Still got Internet
Explorer too but use FIREFOX
I used to have lots of virus alerts and lots & lots of pop-up
adverts Now I have NONE
THEY ARE ALL FREE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every Saturday morning I use, Adware se, -- Eusing
registry scan, -- Advanced window care,-- and Spybot
scan. AND CHECK FOR UP-DATES EACH TIME
I DO IT....... IT TAKES A LITTLE TIME BUT IS
WELL WORTH IT

I have been using AVG Free in conjunction with Windows Defender for over a year now with no issues and no nasty software getting onto my system.

AVG also do Spyware but I cannot comment on this as I have never used it.

The original and best - Norton Internet Security. As the saying goes, computer security is like virginity: you either have it or you don't. :-)
