The placenta is considered pathological, or medical, waste and is typically incinerated or otherwise disposed of under state law. Some parents may wish to keep the placenta for cultural or religious reasons, but that needs to be discussed with the hospital prior to delivery to ensure that all local and state ordinances and laws are being adhered to. I'm not really sure what is meant by "without consent"...do you mean the woman gave birth without consent?? Or that the placenta was discarded without consent? If the latter is the basis for the question, it is unlikely that without prior discussion that the midwife/hospital/birthing center/etc. would keep it for the mother. As for the fluid, that is typically not kept for any reason by the mother, as it holds no "special" cultural or religious meaning, and is cleaned up after the birth as part of the medical waste cleanup and disposal process.

Do you mean disposal of the placenta without her consent or the delivery without her consent?? Kind of confusing. Meantime the placenta is disposed of, it is considered medical waste and there are strict guidelines pertaining to disposal. You can't have it anymore than you could have say an appendix that was removed.

The fluid gets mopped up and the placenta gets burned as medical waste.

Are you asking because you saw the report that there are stem cells in both of those items that can be used for science just like embryonic stem cells? That is off in the future and if you wanted those items preserved you would have to have them collected and pay for deep freeze storage until a time when they may be needed. The fluid would be difficult to save - that is the water breaking thing that is meant to help flush the baby through the birth canal, but usually breaks and fills up your shoes before you get to that point.
