No, I don't think so. As long as she lived my life would be just as incredible. I think it would have brought me even closer to her, because I knew that she had chanced death to keep me alive.

Every birth runs that risk. My mom's labor for me went fairly uneventfully and my five kids were born without too much medical drama... but the potential is always there. I'll always be grateful to my mom for what she went through having me. And now that I have kids of my own I am EXTREMELY grateful to her for the patience she had to have to deal with me and my brother and sister as we grew up !

I think that all of us wish we could have treated our parents better, as a child and teen everyone does something that they wish they had never done to their mother or father. Now that I have my own child, I wish I had praised her every second of the day as a child, she didnt have to almost die. I didnt do too well post partum, but I know that My son will love me regardless of how much of a struggle I had giving birth. I wouldnt throw that I had complications in his face when he is misbehaving.

Definitely. I think I would always be trying to live up to that somehow, to make her proud and glad she lived to see me grow up. I would also feel a little more grateful towards her than I do now, because she would have not only given me my life but risked her own as well. That's something you don't easily forget.

i doubt it. I suppose it would always be in your mind at times you were thinking what a horrible person your mum is (as we all do at some point) making you feel slightly more guilty, but when you think of everything mothers go through, as if giving birth isn't bad enough, it's a wonder why people don't respect and cherish their mums anyway

That's a good question....
If I knew that mom almost died having me, I would probably try harder to make her proud. I mean, I almost killed her!!! I would have to make it up to her somehow!!

probably, she probably would have been more proud of me and all that. My mother hates me, i'm the only girl among three boys and you'd think she'd be happy.... she has even told me i'm not worth being her daughter ;( that saddens me.... if she had almost died maybe she WOULD appreciate me more.
