I'm using a webcam to record video with windows movie maker, when I play back my video, the audio is right but the video isn't, the video lags behind the audio. I tried recording video with no sound, and recorded the sound at the same time with a voice recorder, then uploaded them both seperately into windows movie maker to manually sync them myself, but the video is STILL all wrong. I have no clue and it's driving me mad, help!

when video is transcoded some frames are lost or corrupted so every time a frame is lost the video lags behind the sound by one twentyfifth of a second - this is never made up and gets worse through the film as more frames are lost

To solve it is a pain and often just trial and error using different programs, look in the settings for a synch sound to film tick box or the like

I ended up using virtual dub -- the only one that would synch for me

i could be wrong but it is possable! when i play a dvd it does what you say! if it is the same concept i would say it could be one of the following or all
1 ram
2 vram
3. processor power
4.resolution of the output!!
5.lighting
6. file type of output
7. encoder or decoder

try it again but record it with a lower resolution and lower bitrate of the output file! if still the problem try getting better lighting then still no difference check webcam settings!!

sorry if this is so hard to understand but it is the only way i can explain it!
