We were talking about rape stories that we knew of and I told her one and she thought it was cute that a certain person got raped? I told her that shes a cold bitc.h. What should my reaction have been?

Your reaction was justified. I would have said the same thing. I am shocked to hear a woman say such a thing. There are many women I know that I dislike a lot but would never wish for them to be raped.
How old is she? Maybe she is mentally immature and does not realize what a rape does to a women.
Maybe you should talk to her about this, not necessarily the rape but more on her reaction. One day you may have an argument with her and she may wish bad things on you or not be supportive if some kind of tragedy happen to you, out of anger.
Maybe I am getting a bit out of line here but I am only working on the information you gave me.

Well there are two types of rape. 1. consensual or wanted rape then there is 2. forceful rape.
If she was laughing at number 1 then that is cool. But if it was a bout something brutal, then there is no excuse to laugh. You should watch your back.
Rape is not only a physical thing but more devastatingly a mental thing. It usually haunts the person that is raped for the rest of their lives.

That was a good reaction. It might not be the reaction that everybody else has, but your right to think so. Rape is very wrong and very traumatic to the victim.
Another reaction would to be to play out a rape on her. Don't let her know. Do everything short of actually having sex with her in a way that puts the fear into her.

Some people just dont know how to react or respond to certain things,she may have had the weirdest respond to this kind of story,but you have to keep in mind that it may not have hit her yet,anyway I dont think she'll know the real tragedy behind your story because she hasnt experienced it.
You'll have to forgive her for her ignorance at some point.
and I'm sure she was just trying to make you feel better,not worse.

I think your reaction was right. RAPE is something that no one should very think of as cute. It is a big problem!! I am on your side buddy give her hell. I bet if she was the one that got raped it would not be so funny!

Well if she said that it was cute that that person got raped, then yeah, she's a cold b*tch. But seeing as you're her boyfriend you probably shouldn't have said that. I think that the best response would to have not said anything. But that's just my opinion.

Rape is a touchy subject and it isn't cool to think it is "cute" that someone got raped.
For the future, when sharing stories... leave names out.
And I think you did alright... Nobody deserves to be violated.

I think you should take her to a rape crisis center and let her talk to some people who have been through it and then see if she thinks it is cute. Either that or dump her stupid @ss and get your self a nice g/f instead!

Can you be more specific about the girl who got raped and her relationship with your girlfriend? I guess if you cheated on your girlfriend with the girl who got raped, your girlfriend wouldn't or couldn't care less about what happened to her. In that case she is not a cold *****.
