im 28 and kinda shy and i just moved to a new state, what are some good ideas on how to make new friends? thanks for any input!

Buy a local newspaper and look through it for clubs, organizations, activities that might interest you. Join in on some of them. Also introduce yourself to all your neighbors.
Once you get a few friends, have a little pizza and movie party or some such at your place and let each friend bring a friend.
As far as talking to others, just start with some sort of sincere compliment, and then let them do most of the talking.

Find classes and things to attend. Like yoga, or joing the YMCA or something like that.
Go places, and be outgoing. Introduce yourself to people.
Be outgoing.
Also, don't forget that you don't nessicarily need friends right away. A little alone time never hurt anyone.
Don't look for friends, because the moment you stop looking, they'll come to you.

Speak to certain people that you feel is cool. Don't get to close to a person. Just get a job and start from there.
