1st Question: Duh! Yes, if he smokes this around the baby. You see how dumb it makes him, yeah, well you don't really want a dumb kid now do you.
2nd Question: Everyone has there own opinion on that one. There are risks with pregnancy at any age. But there are less risks at a younger age, than an older age as in 35+.
3rd Question: No one really knows, more than likely because in the olden days women were so good at hiding sickness, no one ever seen it and assumed it happened only in the morning, when it's kinda hard to hide it from the man in their lives.

I wish you the best of luck, but if your boyfriend is still smoking pot then he's showing that he isn't very mature. A man that spends his time doing that ****, will soon show you that he would much rather still be a little boy, then help you with this child. To be honest, I would cut him lose, because it's only gonna be more heartache in the end. He's not ready to be a father at all.

Congratulations!

There are chances of harming the baby if you are around the father while he's smoking--anything. Second smoke is just as bad as first hand. Perhaps he should leave the drug habits behind so he can set a good example.

As far as risks, I'm not a doctor, I cannot tell you what risks you may or may not have. Because you are in the last of the teenage years I cannot say that there are any risks other then older mothers to be. Just eat correctly, stay fit, don't do drugs (including smoking cigarettes), and go to your prenatal visits and you should be fine. The "risks" in teen pregnancy are only to those woman who do not take care of themselves as with all pregnancies.

I cannot tell you why they call it morning sickness when it's all day! LOL. I think it's just something that normally happens in the morning. The best way to deal with that is to eat healthy (no foods that are very greasy) and well balanced.

Other then that remember that your life as you know it is changed. Motherhood should be taken seriously, unfortunately, mothers (of all ages) sometimes do not realize that. Do and try your best and I'm sure pregnancy and parenting is a going to be a great part of your life! Best of Luck!

If he smokes around you or in the house that you live in, yes...

There are more risks, your body is not quite done growing and is now forced to have a baby.
Some common problems for teens are:
preeclampsia
pregnancy induced hypertension
gestational diabetes
low birth weight
premature birth
placenta abruption
HELLP syndrome
Anemia
Severe Morning Sickness

Morning Sickness:
It really doesn't appear at any one time. Not all people get it, some get it more than others. But like above, teens tend to get severe morning sickness more so than when you are in your 20's.

I will include some links and such for you to look at....

Please take care of yourself:
Go to the doctor
Get prenatal checkups
Take prenatal vitamins
Exercise, just walk places... It will really help...

Good Luck to you and the little one... :)

First of all you are sooo young for being pregnant! why the rush?! Pregnancy along with taking care of the baby is a lot of effort. To answer your questions:
- yes smoking can harm the baby, so always stay in a smoke free atmosphere
- i am not sure whether there are any risks being pregnant at such a young age, but you have to be very healthy and you must eat very well. Taking a lot of calcium etc
- It's called morning sickness because it's usually in the morning. some women has it all day, so it's not a rule.
There are some good websites to learn more about pregnancy and motherhood like www.babycenter.com
Hope this info is helpful and good luck

I was also 16 when i had my first child. Smoking around you could affect the baby. Smoking weed could get into your system when you got pregnant in the first place. Smoking weed around you could affect the baby also. There are more risks to having a baby at a young age. I had to be on bed rest for 6 months because of pre term labor. Your body is designed to carry a baby but may be a little unsure since this is your first and you are young. Just want to say good luck and email if you need any more advice.

I was pregnat with my first child at 16 and was stressful but mainly because i had an unsupportive mother. As long as no one is smoking around you then it is not going to harm the baby. As long as you are taking care of your self by eating right and all the things the doctors recommends then there are no risks that I knw about. My best advice to you would be to rest and relax while you still can, once the baby comes you will be really busy. Trust your instincts and dont be afraid to ask for help when you need it.

Yes, you could harm the baby if you or the dad smokes pot and cigarettes. Even second hand smoke is harmful.

I would say the risks at 16 are maybe more than if you were in your 20's but less than if you were 15 years old or younger.

You could deliver prematurely, so the baby could be at risk for some problems, but most Neonatal Intensive Care Units at major hospitals have great care in that area.

Most importantly, please get monthly checkups on your, the dad's, your parents' insurance or go to a free clinic! It is important for everyone, but being so young you need to talk to a doctor about your concerns.

you can email me too. i don't know if my email is public or not, so here it is: crazyjolson@yahoo.com

The dad smoking ciggarrettes is harmful to you now, and will be to the baby after it is born. second hand smoke can cause asthma in children.

there are added risks with being so young. mostly because your body isn't quite ready to have a baby at your age. your docs can fill you in on those specifics. you are seeing a doc right? the first visit should be at about 12 weeks.

my morning sickness was 24 hours for weeks. really bad too. eat small snacks and drink lots of water. not eating makes it worse. also if it gets really bad, you can get Rx meds to help. I had to INSIST they give them to me. because my doc thought oh it's not that bad. well it was! be very specific about your symptoms and your wants!

hope to hear from you on my email.

congratulations :)

If the father smokes around you it can be harmful, there really isn't any more risks you may have the baby early but as long as you take care of yourself it will be ok, Get the book what to expect when you are expecting it was great also there is plenty of websites. My favorite is babycenter.com, pregnancy.about.com, pampers.com, gerber.com, just go to google and type in pregnancy and you will get all sorts of websites. Good Luck!

Feel free to send me an e-mail I will try and help you anyway I can.
