I got sick, too, as did many people in my office. Headache, burning throat, heavy feeling in chest. It might not have been "dangerous" but I can't imagine it was good for us, either!

And it's scary that no one can figure out where it came from.

I hear they don't know what it is or where it is coming from, but they do know that it is not dangerous.
Is that logical? It made you sick, so it can't be 100% safe.
I'm really curious.
There is a real gas leak right now in Oxnard, California. The 101 Freeway is shut down and surrounding roads closed. People are advised to stay indoors with windows closed until it is repaired.

As far as we know, there isn't a gas leak. Con Ed has found no changes in gas flow. To create an odor that large, it would have to be a large leak which would have been detected. An investigation to the source is currently in progress.
