i have a friend. She's been married the same time i've been. She goes out shopping. spends a lot of money (this is a weekly ritual for her), goes out to dance by herself, takes the car and leaves whenever she feels like, and her husband is ga-ga over her.
I on the other hand, come home directly from work, haven't even thought about going out by myself at night, and try to save our money for our retirement years, But my husband treats me like he feels he owns me.
we both are young, good looking and with 2 small children, so what in the world does he want!?!?!

Men ...we will never understand them . You sound like you're being very responsible. Which is more than I can say for myself. I don't go out on my husband but I do spend a lot of money. Every guy is different, some men tolerate things that others won't . You're not doing anything wrong but I don't think he should act like he owns you. No one owns anyone. That's not right. Your friend doesn't sound like she's even married. She sounds more like a single woman to me. I just couldn't do that to my husband. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck!

He wants you. He loves you. He married you and more than anything wants you to respect him and cherish him and nurture him and in the same way wants to do the same thing for you. Dont ever think that your friend is operating in a good light in fact shes not. Never envy other people and what they do. Your friend is lonely and has issues and the only way she can deal with them is to do what shes doing SPEND MONEY and a time is going to come when even that no longer satisfies her. Something is not right with that picture. Be glad your man is crazy about you and he is. Just remember for any marriage to be successful there are two ingredients that are the most important and that is Love and Respect. All men want is to be highly esteemed and respected and all women want is love and lots of it. If a woman refuses to show repect to her husband, she will not get any love from him at all and in the same way if a man does not give his wife love she drowns in misery and refuses to give him respect and then all hell breaks loose. Ironically in the bible in the book of ephesiens God commands men to love their wives and commands wives to RESPECT their husbands and that to be done UNCONDITIONALLY too. It all begins to make sense now why that command is there. Give one another what each deserves and you will have a wonderful and amazing life together.

Being a guy I do not understand this. I think that when you have children that you should be planning for the future instead of taking everything as it comes. He doesnt want anything. He already has what he was looking for: a woman that will put out with his crap. If you are just like you say you are then there is nothing wrong with you besides the fact that you like picking up the better looking man over the nicer one.

Your friend's husband is under her control. He does put up with it because he loves her, he does it because he feels he needs her.
