Write articles in trade journals about your idea and mention in your article the type of companies that may have use of your idea, including the one that you wish would solicit you as well as their competitor. Offer to give brochures/papers with more information as well as first time free consultation for a limited period/limited clients.

You will not be solicited by them. Soliciting is when they contact you for help/advice etc. You need to market yourself/or your idea to them. Start with calling their product development or marketing group.
