they are PROFESSIONAL news journalists not those idiots that are on local stations that just run at the mouth to fill air time for ratings between playing music

I don't perceive them as "elitist." Just professionals that refuse to "dumb down" to make their listeners comfortable with their own ignorance, as commercial broadcasters have been forced to do.

You're right. As a liberal who listens to the content of PBS often, I almost want to puke when I hear those lily livered tree hugging liberals spouting their New England private school crap on national radio. They give the rest of us tree choppers a bad name.
