Christmas in Korea. Military really comes together. We ate together, & then partied like crazy. Good times, best since I've been in.

Went to Japan for the first time 4 years ago (recently came back from there again, last October).
The first time was so fascinating because I learned and discovered so many things I could never have imagined about the country.
It really is like another planet. I recommend to anyone to go there once in their lives. It's not as expensive as everyone thinks if you do a bit of digging. Check into a "ryokan" (traditional Japanese inn) and the room rates are very affordable, breakfast is almost always included and you'll get a real taste of traditional Japanese culture.
I would totally move there if I could speak the language.

Bangaram Island off the coast of India.
There were no tvs, no radios, no phones, no vehicles on the island. The food was prepared for you, there was a bar, and the ocean was your playground. The nights were beautiful..
We didn't know what was going on in the world, but it didn't matter, because we were having the time of our lives.
(Obviously there was transportation (via boat) to and from the island once a day).
I would love to go back. The people were great too. The place is uninhabitated except for this 'resort' of sorts. The island belongs to the people who actually live on another island and use this island to fish, gather coconuts, etc..

I went to Mexico when I was in high school for a Mission Trip.
I was with friends, it was a road trip, and it was the only "foreign holiday" I every had.

Ireland, definitely! Beautiful country, friendly people, easy to drive around even though they drive on the left hand side of the road.

when I was about 10 or 11 yrs. old, my grandmother played Santa Claus and we really had a good time. We didn't know that it was her for many years. Now that she is gone that memory is very special to me.
