I don't blame you. I had the same experience, too when I was young. But then I was given this book and I found it wonderful.
I tell the same thing as it is in the Bible, but the stories become amazingly clear and beautiful. Why don't you try it:

The book's title is The Desire of Ages. Click on its contents, chapter by chapter. Here are some of them:

Chapter Title
Preface
1. "God With Us"
2. The Chosen People
3. "The Fullness of the Time"
4. Unto You a Saviour
5. The Dedication
6. "We Have Seen His Star"
7. As a Child
8. The Passover Visit
9. Days of Conflict
10. The Voice in the Wilderness

I have never read a more beautiful book than this about the life of Christ and the teaching of the Bible and its English is simple and just fantastic.

Believe it or not, but this book was written by a woman who had only 3 years of primary education, but this book was considered the best book ever written on the Gospel and the LIfe of Jesus, and are used as a textbook in thousands of schools and universities around the world.

May God bless you.

If you are interested in understanding the Scriptures, whether Old or New Testament, perhaps you could read books that explain the Scriptures. There are many fine books that discuss and analyze the Bible so that you do not have to wade through all of that "So and so begat" and all of that. A wonderful book that discusses and interprets Ecclesiastes is "The Wisdom of Solomon" by Rami Shapiro.

I do understand, the bible was like a foreign language and couldnt understand a word and I kept searching for someone to tell me how to get close to God,if you couldnt read it then you felt away from Him and wanting to draw close so I found just talking to Him and asking Him for help that now its like a first grade reader the stories in the bible are awesome for instance elijah was traveling from one place to another ,children kept taunting him about being bald he prayed and a female bear came from the woods and killed 46 of them, talk to Him and ask

Read ne thg in the new testament or psalms & proverbs. Sometimes reading the Bible can become mundane, but I keep reading no matter how i feel, because I want to learn more about God. Mab read 1 chapter a day & meditate on what u read.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8 KJV HOLY BIBLE

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 KJV HOLY BIBLE

Stay in the Word of God.

Maybe you should research other religions, eastern and western, then you and only you, will be able to answer your own question. Maybe there is an underlying reason why you can't understand it right now.
