Nope, wasnt looking for a mate at the time. Saw him at the grocery store, we made eye contact, ....then we had both left the store without talking to each other, then it turned out that he just moved in across the street from where I was staying at the time! =) We just clicked. Have been inseperable ever since. I was his girlfriend after 3 days, his wife after 10 months. =)

I was 17 years old when I met my husband. I went in on a Thursday to pick up my check and couldn't take my eyes of him. I had thought that was strange cause I had seen handsome men before and never had a problem taking my eyes off them and him I couldn't. The next day when I went into work and that is when we met. We became friends and good ones. I wasn't looking for anyone. I was young and like the idea of doing what ever. I was 18 when we talked about maybe being more. It was then that I knew he was the one. He didn't. I was 28 when we got married. He asked me 6 months to the day before we got married. We have been married for 6 years. I know that when he walked into my life I wasn't looking for a relationship or him. I know that he wasn't looking for love but found it and more.

I was definitely not looking for a mate. I met my husband at work. It was my first job after graduating from college, and I had had a horrific time finding a job. My plans to attend grad school had been upset by circumstances beyond my control and all I wanted to do was earn some money and try to figure out what I was going to do next.
About a week or so into my new job, when I was still trying to sort people out, someone introduced me to an engineer who worked near where I had my desk in a large, open lab space. My desk was in the middle of the room and this engineer had to go by my desk to get to the coffee pool. Since he seemed to drink a lot of coffee, I saw him go past my desk a lot and finally someone introduced me.
I was 19 and he seemed a lot older (I found out later he was 27). When he was introduced to me, I noticed he had a pronounced accent and I asked him where he got it from. "I learned it from the KGB!" he told me. (The company we worked for was a high-tech aerospace defense contractor and this guy had a top secret clearance, so this was really a flip answer!)
I was taken aback, because I thought that all people at such places were grim people who toiled grimly at grim jobs. Boy was I naive!
Anyways, the guy, whose name was Mike, teased and tormented me every time he went by my desk. My boss finally said something to me about it, to the effect that Mike was spending a lot of time distracting me from work. I was mortified-- I needed the job and didn't want anything to spoil things.
So I told Mike that if he would leave me alone for a whole week, I'd take him out to lunch. He said if I made it dinner I had a deal.
And that was our first date. That was 31 years ago, and we've been married for 29 years now. And they have been absolutely fabulous years!

I was not looking. Actually I was looking to not find anyone at that time. I had been in a 2 yr relationship from hell, and enjoying my peace and quite for 6 months when I ran into him. Literally. We both were volunteering for the local SPCA's walk-a-thon. How corny is that! lol Anyways, the Great Dane I was walking decided to take off with me attached and I collided with him. We laughed and talked the rest of the day. He invited me to lunch the fallowing day, and that's it, I've seen him every day since! It's been 7 yrs now. We are married, have our own home, and one wonderful pooch!

I had sworn off men completely and was trying to rebuild my life after a previous relationship. I was invited to a party where I didn't know anyone and decided to go.
No way was I looking for anyone, but there he was....my future husband to be! He was quiet as well (he knew more people than me there, but he's more on the quiet side). So, we struck up a conversation!

I met him at a Country Bar. It was funny! I turned him down the first time. But, he kept asking me until I gave in. 4 years later and I am still with him.
