I take allegra regularly and am using nuvaring..I have heard of some medicine causing birth control to lose its effect..has anyone else heard of this?

Yes it is possible that your allergy medication could be interfering in the efficacy of your birth control. Check with your pharmacist or your Doctor to be sure. They may be able to suggest something more compatible.

Antibiotics are weakened when using the birth control pill. I have an 11 year old daughter to prove this. After my daughter was born I asked the doctor to renew my prescription, which was an antibiotic i took for acne. My doctor informed me that was why I got pregnant while on the pill. SURPRISE. Always use a backup if you are on an antibiotic and taking the birth control pill.

Yes but allergy meds don't effect them. Mostly antibiotics.

No, the only meds you will need to worry about are Rx antibiotics that interfere with the bc

NO NO NO... I've checked with my doctor on that and the pharmacy. Both say no.. it will not interfer.
