Most of the new LCD High Definition TVs can be attached to a computer. But not the older "picture tube" TVs. The resolution between the two is not compatible. Check your laptop's documentation as many of the newer laptops also have an RCA or SVideo jack that can be used to attach the laptop to a VCR or DVD player, and then send the signal through that to the device.
Note that with either, all that gets send in the VIDEO. You also have to attach an audio cable from the laptops speakers jack to the TV (or VCR/DVD) for the sound.

That depends on the TV. The video on your PC is a much higher resolution that many TVs are capable of displaying. SOme TV's has RS232 ports built in and are capable of showing a PC's high resolution image. Your PC will need to have a jack for video out or a video card that allows data out to a TV.

Yes you can. If your TV has a VGA input (looks like the monitor out) then you would only need a VGA Cable. If your TV doesn't then you will have to buy an adapter VGA to whichever input your TV has.

Sure, if your tv has a DVI port, then just buy a dvi-vga (vga is your "monitor out" port btw)converter and hook it up. Several Sony LCDS have a vga output built in already so if you have a sony lcd then there you go.

the monitor outlet what it is mentioned in your laptop is only for computer CRT or LCD monitors only and not for tv screens. or else you can connect it to a LCD projector and view in big screen.

In short - Maybe, but unlikely. Yes - If your television has a VGA connection - doubtful Yes - If your computer has a socket marked TV Out. This is unlikely.
