stay away from the powerline products, they will not get you the distance you are looking for. if you have good line of sight, a wireless bridge with a hi-gain directional antenna on both sides should do the trick. we managed to get around 1 mile at my brother in law's place.

There are some extenders that use your electrical system to extend the signal. Just plug one into the router and another in the area you want to use the internet.
Netgear makes them and they are really cool and cheaper than many solutions and can be expanded all over your property with extra transmitters

500 meters is stretching it quite a bit for SOHO equipment. With a good SRX router mounted high in your house, a good SRX receiver with a signal boosting antenna and little interference, you might get the signal to reach that far. Failing that, your only realistic solution is to run a cable.

Im not sure if it will extend it for that length but there are wireless range extenders. Linksys and other wireless companies sell them. Check techbargains for deals. If you have a wireless phone in your home then change your channel on your router to extend the range.

there are somewhat some suggestions for this - none are foolproof regrettably: Relay/repeater - those take the sign advance it and bypass it on extreme benefit aerials - upload those to the router/hub AND the receiving card to advance sign VERY extreme benefit transponders - those can advance the sign exceedingly - yet cost hundreds. a much better good thank you to get a demonstration by potential of way of the residing homestead with out new wiring is to coach the HomePlug gadget to furnish data over AC (electric powered wiring) - very good and you gets instruments that are purely approximately as speedy as broadband.
