Back then almost all headlights were round 6" or 4" sealed beam bulbs. Pretty standard bulb.

If you are replacing a burnt out one its easy.. you just need a screwdriver...

a) Open the hood and look inside at the back of the bulb for a 3 prong plug if it is there unplug it (you may not be able to reach it from the hood so don't worry).

b) Remove the 3 or 4 (or 2) screws from th retaining ring around the headlight. This is the chrome trim ring that covers the edge of the bulb

c) Remove the adjustment ring from around the actual bulb. Do not turn the adustment screws only remove the two screws that hold the ring tight to the car.

d) Gently pull out the bulb and (if you could not do it from the hood side) unplug the bulb. Take it down to the auto parts store and get a replacement and then reverse the procedure.

hope that brighted up things for you....

any autoparts store can tell you this from their computer system if the book on the shelf doesn't go back that far.

the old caprice isn't just a bulb but the entire glass housing. if I recall right they were normally about 9.95 per headlight. just make sure its high beam or low beam if seperates.

autozone, auto parts warehouse, walmart, meijers, o'relieys all should carry it. older cars there were only a few sizes of the entire glass housing.

The are complete units. Go to any parts store and they should have them. One side is high beam and the other is low beam. Any junk yard would have used ones also.
