Okay, I can't believe you actually think the Harry Potter movies are better than the books. I'll give you that HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban perhaps matched the book, but no way the movies were matched or better.

However, as for your question, I think that the A&E movie Pride and Prejudice was better than the book, but only because it was easier to understand than Jane Austen's Victorian language.

A few others would be A Clockwork Orange & The Notebook.

o....k.....

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! The Harry Potter BOOKS are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than the movies!!!!!!! Eragon the movie is good but not compared to the book. The Thief Lord AWESOME BOOK! AWESOME MOVIE The Thief Lord is one of the few movies that's is completely true to the book. Only one or two very minor parts were left out. The Chronicles of Narnia the Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe are kinda true to the book but in every film of it they leave out a huge gap about the thing that I'm not going to tell you about because i want you people to get of your lazy butts and read the books, NOT JUST SEE THE MOVIE! uh.... and How the Grinch Stole Christmas is very true to the book (not the Jim Carey version) that's all I can think of...

LOTR did, but hp is WAY off...the books are so much better...
The Shawshank Redemption was based on a Stephen King book, and they are basically the same but the movie is more powerful...
Children of Men, I heard the book sucked but the film was awesome...
Chronicles of Narnia was as good as the book...
and The Last of the Mohicans, I think that was as good.

Lord of the rings defiantly better! Ummmmm wat else...pride and prejeduce with keira knightly better....those are two best ones that i can think of rite now...but the worst are eragon b/c they left out too much and if they make the second one and do a crappy job like the first one then well ugggh ill be pissed...now if you saw the movie and didnt read the book(like my lil bro) then you prolly liked it...but maybe was a lilttle confused. Some of the Harry Potter wasnt as good as the book. But Some were okay!

Definitely The Green Mile. The Grinch (Jim Carrey version) rocked. Have to disagree on the Harry Potters; there was so much more in the books than the movies.

Narnia and A Series of Unfortunate Events were really spot on to the books. I do not think the Harry Potter books were close enough.

Although LOTR were good films, I think they left a lot out. The only really decent adaptation that I can think of is To Kill A Mocking Bird.

I'm sorry, I totally disagree with your assessment of LotR and HP...the books are way better...more alluring with their intricate details that were lest out of the movies. I have never seen a movie based on a book that was better than the book itself.

The latest version of Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley. It left a lot of the extra stuff out that wasn't necessary (that was shown in the 6 part mini series with Colin Firth), but still stayed true to the story of the book.
