I'm 33 weeks now and since the beginning of my pregnancy I have been worried. This is my first and I really don't know what to expect and I'm always afraid I'm not doing something right or doing something to harm the baby. At my 22 week ultrasound, she looked fine but since then I've had a bad UTI and was put on Cipro, a pregnancy category C for 10 days. And also I have been on category B antibiotics everyday since 12 weeks for recurrent UTI's. I haven't smoked or drank alcohol or anything like that, but sometimes I will sleep on my back, take hot showers or baths (as long as there isn't enough water in the tub that covers my stomach) and I go against what books say and eat cold lunch meat and tuna and all that jazz. Also my tummy really isn't that big for 33 weeks, and I feel like it should be bigger. Am I being over paranoid?

I've eaten lunch meat because I crave meat sandwiches and you can only eat peanut butter sandwiches for so long without wanting to puke. As for the tuna, I will eat 1 can a week. My OB-GYN told me its actually good for the baby if not eaten in excess, he said his wife ate it all the time.

It is totally normal to freak out. For the last 2 months of my pregnancy I was convinced that my child had a birth defect due to an ultra sound picture that I had seen. It looked to me like he had a cleft palette and of course everyone told me I was crazy. I agonized over soo many things while I was pregnant. I would have dreams where I would give birth to puppies. Or that I would go into labor but then the doctor would say that the baby wasn't in there anymore. Better luck next time.
Pregnancy really plays a sick game with womens emotions. With all the extra hormones bouncing around it's hard to not feel this way. Just remember that the less stress you endure the better. Try to relax as you have already stated that you are. Everything is going to be fine. Once that baby pops out you are going to have a whole new set of worries. No one follows every instruction they are given during pregnancy. We all break the rules somewhere, and then of course that just will worry you more. Everyone is so different during pregnancy. No one can say how large your belly should be. If the your doc thought you were growing at an irregular rate he would say something and do advanced testing on your baby.
So no worries. Keep your head up and pretty soon you'll be holding a beautiful baby.
Take care!

You are being paranoid, but it's normal. It's okay to sleep on your back sometimes if that's the only way you can get comfortable to sleep. I was normally a side sleeper, but when I was pregnant, I found it more comfortable on my back.
Your OB wouldn't give you any meds that were not safe to take. It's better to take antibiotics than to have an infection in your body.
As long as your body isn't overheated and you don't take too long of a bath, you should be fine with an occasional hot shower.
You can eat lunch meat and tuna (limit to one can per week whether you're pregnant or not).
The baby grows the most in the last month of pregnancy because up until this point all the nourishment has been for the formation of the organs, but the last few weeks is when the baby starts to put on fat to cushion him/her during delivery. So, you will be getting bigger very soon.
Try to stop stressing and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Best wishes.

I haven't been perfect either during mine, I am also 33 weeks. People don't even know I am pregnant unless the look really hard. I went to the doc last week and my husband asked them about my size and when they measured me I was at 32 centimeters, which was perfect. I have eaten tuna the whole time I have bben pregnant and cold lunch meat. Unless I go to subway or something I have it warmed up. You shouldn't stress over the petty stuff because stessing out does more damage than living your life. Just remember that you are pregnant, not disabled! I don't know about you but I am happy I am as small as I am. I was cleaning the garage last night and doing laundry and dishes and being thankful I can still get around without the belly getting in my way. So yes, unless your doctor has a concern, you should be ok. Don't stress! This is a time to be happy and to love every day of peace! Good Luck!

You're NOT alone!! It's so hard to know what's going on in there. I'm wondering why the doc would put you on a category C!!!!
However, I really doubt that there is going to be anything wrong with your baby.
Also, you're being a great mommy from what you've said. You are thinking alot about your baby and her health. Think of how many mothers smoke and use other stuff while pregnant and somehow end up with heathy babies!
You are doing a great job. You can't judge how healthy your baby is by the size of your tummy - although I know how you feel since I never got very big with any of mine.
You're not being over paranoid. You're a mother and the worry doesn't end once your baby is out. It just gets different.
Good luck!!!!!!!

It's normal to worry about these things, but they are out of your control. You said you would love your baby no matter what, and should have a baby with Autism or ADHD they will be more precious and special to you, you will feel more joy when they hit their 'firsts' I do not have a child with Autism, but my son does have an issue, he is a gifted child, this causes more problems than a child with autism or adhd, there are therapies out there for all the issues that you are worrying about. Worrying about it will only cause you stress, therefore, if the outcome would be no different if you knew your child had issues, don't worry about it. Embrace your pregnancy and enjoy it. <3

First, it's okay to worried especially since it's your first pregnancy. (Cuz I'm on the journey with my 1st but I'm only about 7-8 wks still early). Not everyone eats as healthy or follows the rules of pregnancy to the T. I would recommend that you not sleep on your back and not take extremely hot baths or showers either. Second, every woman's pregnancy will vary from another so don't compare your size or pregnancy journey to another womans. Third, you should share your concerns with your doctor so that s/he can give you any extra advice and ease your concerns.

You might be a bit over paranoid, but you certainly NEED to avoid tuna and foods high in mercury. If you were really worried about your baby's health, you wouldn't eat these things.
