go to start > run > and type in msconfig. that should take you to the start up programs. Uncheck the boxes that have anything to do with your messengers or programs that you do not want to run at start up. That is one way than there is the regedit way also .... go to start > run> and type regedit it should bring up a box with folders. Now go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER> Software> Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Run now delete anything from there you don't want to run at start up. Next go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software> Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Run delete everything you do not want to run at start up also .... But be careful that it is not something that needs to run at start up. If your not sure don't touch it!! Good luck it works !!

the apparent way is to uninstall any software you do not use. you may also (if year utilizing MS abode windows 2K, XP, Vista...) bypass to commence menu -> Run. enter msconfig and press go back. elect the Startup tab. right here you'll see a itemizing of courses scheduled to run each startup. Be warned tho, a number of those might want to be necessary to the graceful operating of year computer, besides the actual incontrovertible truth that maximum are jst annoyances. Uncheck the products you may do without, close the verbal replace, restart year computer. even as it restarts, the MSconfig field will seem (Win2k, WinXP), verify the field that asserts 'do not practice me this lower back even as abode windows starts'. in case you used MSconfig in Vista, a popup in year systray (bottom good of demonstrate, clock area) will say that startup applications were blocked. click this message, elect 'run blocked startup application' THEN verify the do not run this lower back field... wish that helped without causing too a lot confusion...

go to start, run, type in msconfig and go to service and startup on top. Make sure you check the programs, not your computer system start up programs or else it could stop your computer from starting up ( Im guessing but im not going to try it).
