It will work with XP and OS X natively, just plug it in.

As for Win98, that is a bit of a hit and miss situation. I had to get one for work and made sure I could download the driver BEFORE I bought the card so I knew it would work on a Win98 machine.

The card manufacturer website is a good starting point.

What OS are you using?

WindowsXP is pretty much up-to-date on drivers. If, when you plugged it in, you got the message "new hardware discovered" and you told Windows to look on the hard drive for the driver, and it is not there, just go to the web site of the manufacturer. I'm sure you will find a link to drivers.

May I suggest you download the driver to your desktop and save a copy someplace - just in case - then install the driver before you reinsert the USB.

the driving force is ineffective in case you haven't got a USB 2.0 port. in the experience that your port is barely a million.a million, and you opt for to make the gadget quicker, purchase a USB 2.0 port. i think of the only distinction between the two ports is that 2.0 has quicker transfers.

Without knowing what version of WINDOWS you are running, it is difficult to answer the question (sorry). Please edit with the version of Windows.
