WASHINGTON - President Bush will address the nation at 9 p.m. EST Wednesday about his new approach for the war in Iraq, the White House said. Bush is expected to announce an increase of up to 20,000 additional U.S. troops. Bush's decisions, more than two months in the making, already are drawing criticism from new Democratic leaders in Congress who say it is time to begin ending the war, not to send in more U.S. forces. Bush is the only one in the world who believes he can win in Iraq. The war will end up like Vietnam.

Primarily because there has been no course.

He didn't bother to seek the advice of people with knowledge of the situation and area until last month. So what does he do now? He fires the people who gave him good advice because it didn't fit into his nit-wits.

Now he is surrounding himself with a new set of sycophants, and continues to play at war, killing off our young people in the military for no reason.

He's like a retarded kid happily pulling the legs off of insects.

As far as I remember, Bush is the only one that still wants to stay the course in Iraq. Everyone else has given up and as willing to accept defeat. I also don't get it. First people complain about his stay the course strategy. Now that he's trying to patch up this strategy because the public is dissatisfied with his policy. People are upset about that. It doesn't matter what he does, people already have a certain impression about him and that's not gonna change. there are only two options for war. To win, or to be defeated. There are two reasons I feel we should win this war. The first is to protect the post Iraq history of this country. I really don't want my children experiencing another 9/11 attack on this country. the second is, I don't want this country to have to go back to Iraq for a 3rd time in the future because of more mistakes we have made.

Not necessarily true. Vietnam will never happen again and Bush is not looking to win the war by himself....I for one support him. He can't just send more people in without these people wanting to do it. They enlist because they see the light at the end of the tunnel, they want to achieve the same goals as Bush which is protecting our GREAT nation. He is not right in a lot of things he does but FINISHING what we started is a MUST. Do you know that there are hundreds of thousands of people enlisting knowing that they may go on OUR behalf to protect the world. That is a hell of a lot of people who believe in what Bush does. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS (THOSE WHO BELIEVE THAT WE SHOULD BE THERE AND WE WILL WIN).

The problem with "staying the course" is sometimes the course changes. In this case the government is taking longer than expected to ghet ramped up and the level of foreign influence is bogging down the effort to get out.

The situation has changed and must be adapted to. The war may very well likely end up like Vietnam because, just like that war, the politicians are fighting it in their arena instead of allowing the soldiers to fight it in theirs.

one half step follows another.....
the fastest way out of Iraq is to get further in. we need to put 500,000 troops on the ground in iraq.
500,000 will end the insurgency, it will prop up the failed goverment of Iraq and it will send strong messages to irana nd Syria.

we need to stop tiptoeing around and settle this with the overwhelming weight of troops that we have.

not 20,000 at a time 500,000 for a year and we will be done with iraq

Yet another copyrighted article that erudite decised to add his FABRICATED LIES to, in an attempt to fool people here on Yahoo Answers. And I might add this is in a blatant violation of Yahoo rules.

Let us list the little fabrication put in by the habitual liar named erudite:
"Bush is the only one in the world who believes he can win in Iraq. The war will end up like Vietnam"

As always the link to the REAL and UNEDITED article is listed in my sources section
