Is X fully backward compatilble? I want to fly a Boeing 777 which wasn't included in my deluxe version of FSX... for some reason. I've donloaded a few from the net, and I have FS9/FS2004, is there a way to import them over?

A lot of more recent aircraft designed for FS2004 will work in FSX. There may be some weirdness, so the only thing you can do is try them out and see if they work well enough. For example, I downloaded a FS2004 helicopter into my FSX, and for some reason some of the panels aren't showing up, or the texture on the rotor blades are funny, when they're spinning they disappear behind clouds that are far away. To add planes to FSX, place the plane directory under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\ . If you have gauges, place them in the Gauges directory. If there were effects included with the aircraft, place them in the Effects directory.

And here's a hint. To get a thumbnail for your FS2004 plane in FSX (when you import a plane it will show up as a ? mark in the selection menu of FSX) fly your new plane, press V to take a screenshot, and then rename that screenshot to "thumbnail.jpg" and place it in the /texture folder within your aircraft's directory.
