It just sounds like an advert to me trying to con you into buying some crappy software that you don't need. i wouldnt worry too much about it. And as far as it knowing your ip, well it would because your computer broadcasts it when you are on the internet, just as everyone elses does.

If you have:

XP System pack version two then this should help:

Download Windows Defender - given in the link provided
Personally it sounds like you have spyware on your pc and this software is really good at removing such problems.

It's owned by Microsoft and is 100% safe to download and use. It is free but will only work with service pack XP two.

- Note sure if you have service pack two? -

↓ Right-hand click your desktop icon for my computer
↓ Select properties
↓ On the page look for the system list
↓ At the bottom look for Service Pack two

Update and run your AVG. Or you can run a free online scan at CA.

Also run spybot and adaware.

Download, update and run Spybot---http://www.safer-networking.org/ . Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.

Download, update and run Adaware---http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/products/select_your_product.php
