my very good friend is a great guy and i like spending time with him, but his physical features are very stunning and striking to me. he is 6'3 with tons of freckles on his face and arms and i sometimes get an erection around him(though he doesnt know this) and i feel a bit uncomfortable. i do somewhat have feelings for him cause i like him so much but not to the point where i want to be weird and have sexual feelings. what should i do around him? also, would it be ok to sometimes hug him when i feel appreciative of his friendship or is this too "gay"

Yeah, hug him. Not gay guys do that all the time. Especially when they're feeling appreciative of their friendship.
I don't get how you'd be weird having sexual feelings for your friend. You're getting erections around the guy! Forget about it being weird to have sexual feeling about a guy. YOU'RE GAY!!!
You don't say, but I suspect you don't know if your friend is gay. Does he know you are? You should probably let that little tidbit of information out ASAP. It's not like you're going to be able to keep it a secret anyway. Once he knows you're gay, just ask him out. Ask him if he wants to go to a movie and grab something to eat. Don't tell him it's a date, but treat it like one. Don't invite other people, pick him up, pick a quiet restaurant, and don't pick an action flick. When you drop him off, look him in the eye, say you had a great time and would love to do it again sometime soon. If he didn't know you liked him before, he'll certain realize it then. If he agrees to go out with you again, you can pretty much figure he's interested.

are you a guy, if so i would not be giving hugs to my male friends and i think you should keep your feeling to yourself . i get the feeling that he is not into guys and likes women. if you are friends then keep it that way . if you are really uncomfortable with him then start to find reasons why you can't hang out but please keep it yourself if he is not gay. but if you and him are really good friends and he knows your gay just keep being his friend and control your feelings for the sake of the friendship

well you seem to know that your reaction to him stems from lust but are you sure there are no deeeper feeelings? If he turns u on but you dont want to take things further with him maybe you should stop seeing him.
