Czech Republic lies in the center of Europe, it is 600 km away from the Baltic Sea, over 700 km away from the Northern Sea, as well as from the Adriatic Sea.
The Czech Republic is rich in history and culture. Situated in the center of Europe, it links East and West both geographically and culturally. There are several mountain ranges and national parks, hundreds of castles, and many historical sights which demonstrate the dramatic history of this region.
Prague is the largest city in the Czech Republic at about 1.21 million. I just visited there in November and it has become a cultural tourist trap. It has definitely embraced it's new found popularity maybe the most popular to visit in Europe right now) and there are tourist traps everywhere that I base this on.
The currency is called the Koruna (Kc) or Crown = 100 haler. Notes are in denominations of Kc5000, 2000, 1000, 500, 200, 100, 50 and 20. Coins are in denominations of Kc50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1, and 50, 20 and 10 hellers.
Ethnic groups include Czech with minorities of Slovaks, Poles, Germans, Romanies (also known as Gypsies)and Hungarians.
The language is Czech but most everyone speaks German. English is spoken by almost everyone in Prague.
