As a group only Marxists (and then only some of them) are opposed to freedom.
Most people believe in freedom in general, but sometimes one person's exercise of freedom impairs the freedom, or even life, of another.
Most liberals will side with the individual against institutions, or objects, and side with the person who gets a life injury, over the person who would have to spend a bit of money to prevent doing the injury..
Basically it comes down to who is held accountable (if at all) and how. Generally those who hold greater power need others to hold them to greater accountability, as they will use that power to avoid it.

Marxist are against freedom, and contrary to what "Chi Guy" said, do seek world conquest. Liberals do believe in individual freedom, but scoff at any effort to fight against those that don't. They alyways assums there's some other sinister motive behind fighting against them, and marxists love to convince them of that lie. A social democrat is a vague term these days, since it's used to describe people ranging from the moderate left, to socialists, and even the far-right.

Read.
Marxism isn't about what we've grown up to believe it is. Marxism is a philosophy that advocates a Utopian society, where everyone is equal. How the Bolsheviks and Lenin interpreted and implemented the Marxist philosophy is markedly different. Don't confuse the two.
I believe you have your mind already made up about the other two.
