My dad does that all the time. He laughs so hard; it's the best part of the story!

Yeah. And I still think it's funny. The last time it happened was when FedEx first came out with the commercial where there are some business people standing around talking about expanding to China. One guy says to the other 'put a pin in China.' But the guy doesn't know where China is. You can watch it on FedEx.com. It's hilarious.

Anyway, when I was trying to tell my husband about it I couldn't stop laughing. He couldn't understand what I was saying and when he finally did he was unimpressed.

Yes, I've had that happen. If I'm in a humorous mood, I laugh too much when telling the story.

One memorable example was seeing a remote control robot talking to the kids, he said he used to be a vacuum cleaner, and he had to do a lot of sucking up to get to where he was today. It was so funny, but I really ruined it when telling it to someone else.

oh my god i've done that so many times its not funny seriously and then the person thinks you extremely slow for telling them a joke that only you laughed at

yeah for sure...again I'd try giving an example here, but I cant even think of one of those, or it'd be funny..so ill just go along with my original answer, of YES! countless times..I suck at repeating jokes, but i'm good at improv.

I do that all the time, I just laugh though it and then they look at me like I have two heads.

i read things and then try my best to tell someone but then they just shake their heads, i guess reading is not the same as listening.
