Of those two, the Pentium 4 at 3.2 Ghz is faster. The 2.8Ghz Pentium-D (dual core) runs exactly the same as a single core Pentium 4 at 2.8Ghz, for regular usage. 3.2ghz is faster by 400 MHz.
If you have a Pentium D 805, you can overclock it to 3.2ghz easily
i have had one myself.
So ofcourse i would recommend a Pentium D
i would also like to inform you that a Pentium D 805 is not 2.8GHz
but actually 2.4 to 2.66ghz
i forgot which because once i get a new processor
i immediatly overclock it to high speeds

the pentium 4 in theory, but I doubt you will see much difference in preformance between 2.8GHz and 3.2GHz however, since the D canin theory process two things at once, it would really all come down to how much ram you have, once you get 1024MB of ram or more, the D might become faster.
