The more wire there is the more copper atoms there are to 'get in the way' of the flowing electrons and slow them down so yes the longer the wire the higher the resistance because there is more atoms there to cause resistance

There is a resistance density measure called resistivity = rho = (RA/L); where R is resistance of a wire L long and cross sectional area A.
Thus, the resistance (R) = rho L/A; so, as L gets longer or A gets smaller, the resistance of a wire goes up. As rho depends on a wide variety of things, its value is usually found experimentally for a given wire. [See source.]

the longer the length of wire - the more resistance
this is because there are more atoms for electrons to collide with causing resistance.

resistance increases, because it is cumulative. Imagine running an obstable course. The longer the obstacle course, the fewer people are going to make it all the way to the end.
Resistance works just like that for electrons.

Resistance is measured in ohms/foot for wire.
Resistance is also dependant on the gauge (diameter) of the wire and the compostion of the wire, and temperature as well.
R {ohms} = (resitance {ohms} / ft of wire) x (# of ft)
