The book by steven king ''The stand'' And how do I know which one is the first , or is it a whole book. Thanks for your advice and is there any great books like this book.

The Stand is not a series but one (i might add quite long 1,000+pgs) book.
Stephen king has the Dark Tower series which is several books long and i think its finished now. That may be what you are thinking of.
I will also say if you like stephen king epic books that The Talisman is this amazing story not a lot of people have heard of. Its a coming of age story about this boy and he goes into another world its really amazing. One of my all time favorite books. It has a sequal which is good but not as wonderful called the Dark House i believe.
Stephen King also did the Green Mile as a series...its one long book but when it was orginally released it came out in 5 or 6 parts. (another amizing book by the way)
I pretty much enjoy all of Stephen Kings books my favorites are It The Shining, Geralds Game (really twisted book!) Salems Lot, Misery They are all really good. It is awsome...realy long epic tale sort of like the stand.

The novel is divided into 3 parts, or books. Anything else is all three parts in one.
The Stand is an apocalyptic horror novel by Stephen King originally published in 1978. It re-works the scenario in King's earlier short story, "Night Surf" (included in the short story collection Night Shift).
The novel was re-released as The Stand: The Complete & Uncut Edition in 1990. King restored some text originally cut for brevity, added and revised sections, and changed the setting of the novel from 1975 to 1990. This edition featured art by Berni Wrightson.

The Stand, by Stephen King...is one book.
there are two different versions however.....one has more pages than the other.... it is kind of an ' extended " version.....
great book....great read........ one of my all-time favorites!

"The Stand" is just one book...one really really long book...it's far and away my favorite of his as well.
