I havae two answers for you:
1. The "hypnotic state" cannot be reached without the persons' consent.
2. There is no scientific proof whatsoever that there actually is such a thing as "the hypnotic state". The power of suggestion, means that people are assuming this bogus state, because they believe they are expected to.

Hypnosis is done for an outcome or a purpose, at least by trained hypnotists.
