I am looking for a teammate for adventure sports, what is a good source for locating them in my area?

I would like to start participating in adventure races, however, I have little experience and would like to team up with some one that knows what they are doing, and learn from them. Is there a source for locating folks that enjoy doing this kind of thing?

Go out one Sunday with a bow and arrow and hunt someone. Be sure to use tranquilizer tips rather than barbed tips... you don't want to kill the person! Just bring them down, strap them to a chair in a deserted log cabin, pour benzine over them and ask them if they're keen on joining your adventure sports team whilst threateningly drawing on a cigarette centimeters away from your prospective partner's gasoline soaked skin. That should do the trick and whatsmore, with you behind them, they're bound to run/row/climb/swim like the wind!
