Okay, back in Nov. I went to the gyno to get my regular exam/pap test done and I had this lump in my bikini area (you can't see it, but you can feel it) that I wanted to mention to her. She took a quick glance at it and said not to worry too much about it, that is was probably caused by shaving that area and to just leave it alone and see if it clears up. Well, I still have it and it has gotten larger. It's been two months since my appointment. It bothers me when I wear clothes b/c it rubs the area and it makes it sore.

Any advice? Has anyone had something similar? I will probably call and make an appointment this week to have it checked out again. Someone told me though that you have to go to a dermatologist for something like this?

It is wise of you to have it checked out again. It might be from an ingrown hair or a swollen lymph node. Better have it looked at though just to be sure. The fact that it gets sore from rubbing your clothing is reason enough to have it treated.

Sounds like a swollen lymph node. You should go back to the doctor and get it looked at again. A skin cyst is easily visible at the skin. Swollen lymp nodes can be just from an infection in the area but they might also be lymphoma so this should be looked at soon.

I've had the same thing and also got it checked out. The doctor told me that it was from shaving then your underwear rubbing against it just irritates it. I wouldn't worry much.

If it was a STD your doc would have caught it, it could be a cyst and a dermotologist can help you with that. Nothing to worry about. Luck

it sounds like an infection below the skin

it won't get better by itself - will only get worse

you need to get some oral antibiotics to take - clears it right up

(I've had this problem before - several times)
