Understand one thing. Astrology is a magical thinking belief, always has been always will be. A belief that still exists because it makes money. Astrology needs belief, just as much as any religion. Without your belief, it is nothing and useless. Not only do people want it to be real, it must be real. It criticized when people claim astrology to be factual. Neither astrologers and scientists can't find find any evidence, no matter the effort. Statistics could be used to seek the truth but are ignored by astrologers. Because they will show that astrology is false. None of the stereotyping is valid. Thousands of years of use and no evidence. Everything is based on point of view opinion. No unifying theory, not even a theory. Rules that change constantly. Then they have so many exceptions that calling them rules is pointless. And you wonder why people criticize astrology? This is in the entertainment section. If astrology is serious, why doesn't anyone get serious? Where are the ones that can silence the critics. Where and whom are the best of the best in your field? Why do people spend years of study and have no results? They never even find anything wrong. Does that make astrology perfect? Where does astrology clearly succeed to do better than chance? Or better than other alternatives. I always ask this question and never get an answer. The only way convince is solid testable evidence. Such proof would be Nobel prize winning. In fact it would be historical. Astrology has history but does not make history. Edit: In 1966, after twenty years of unrelenting labour to test the claims of astrology and astrologers, Gauquelin summarised his philosophy and his findings as follows: "It is useless to declare that astrology represents an infantile state of mind if well designed experiments prove that its pronouncements are correct. In that case it should once again assume an extraordinary importance. It matters little whether it is explained by symbolism or physics, or whether the stars are signs or causes. ... [But now] it is high time to come to an end. Every attempt, whether of astrologers or scientists, to produce evidence of the validity of astrological laws has been in vain. It is now quite certain that the signatures in the sky which presided over our births have no power whatever to decide our fates, to affect our hereditary characteristics, or to play any part however humble in the totality of effects, random and otherwise, which form the fabric of our lives and shape our impulses to action" (Astrology and Science 1970:125,138).
