Remember back in school we had to be 'accepted' and 'cool'? Otherwise life would be hell? Same goes to college/uni
Then there came work where politics are unavoidable
Everywhere, whatever it is, even if we joined a gym, there's always the slimmer, prettier guy/girl meant to be admired

Do these relate to you?

I'm not that OLD, lol, just 22...and I know I'm not exactly in the 'unpopular' category. I always see myself somewhere in between. And I'm NOT jealous cow! I just wonder...u know, like why does everything be judged based on popularity?

You have a point. In some ways, it is all just a continuation of high school, like the Bowling for Soup song. : ) But I think there is also something to be said for growing up and maturing in ways of thinking. I think when you get a little older and out of school, what matters more is how you treat people. However, out in the working world, the phrase "It's not what you know, it's WHO you know" rings true everywhere that I have seen. So again, being a decent person and building up your network of connections does have its advantages.

I saw a cartoon in The New Yorker Magazine ::
It shows a coupla teenagers talking to their middle aged parents.
The caption says, "Gee, we can hardly wait to be as old as you so we won't have to worry about being cool or popular!"
It never stops. Until we do.

It depends on who you are & how you feel about yourself. You sound young & maybe not too confident in who you choose to be. Life certainly is not fair & can be all those things, but we don't have to choose to be a part of that. No, I understand what you're saying but it doesn't fit into my life. I'm way past all that - thank God!
