Saw this on some other yahoo questions, i'm gonna try it when i get home:

glass bowl, put aluminum foil on the bottom. add some salt and some baking soda, then add hot water. put in silver jewelry, make sure it touches the foil. supposedly a chemical reaction will clean it!! :)

Just ad a drop of dish washing liquid to a bowl of warm water. Agitate your jewelry in the solution and let sit for a couple of minutes and rinse. You may rinse with a little alcohol for more sparkle.

This answer is to support the post above about the aluminum foil + baking soda + salt trick. I have used it and it works scarily well. So cheap and easy and you don't have to keep special cleaners around the house!

sounds cheep but toothpaste works wonders on silver. Squeeze a little on the item and scrub with a damp cloth or soft toothbrush, rinse in water, dry and wear.
