Pregnant with twins? How did you know besides an ultrasound?

I'm 4 or 5 weeks pregnant. My OB/Gyn suspects that I'm pregnant with twins. I haven't had an ultrasound yet. He says that my HCG levels more than doubled in less than 48-hours. They changed at levels of a multiple pregnancy. Anyone ever went through this and actually found out you were in fact pregnant with twins? How did yuo react?

The same thing happened to me. They were suspicious because of HCG levels being so high. The ultrasound confirmed it. I was pregnant with twins, I have to admit I was not very happy about it because I had a 13 month old baby. It was a lot of work for several years. But now they are adults, and I don't know what I would do without them! Either way, you will be fine, it's a blessing. Good Luck!

Your doctor will know . If you have more weight gain then normal is the main key or if they hear a extra heart beat withe heart dobbler when they check it at the oppointments . They can also tell on how your stomach grows . If i were pregnant with twins i would pass out . I have a sister in law that had twins at home naturally and breast fed them both till after teething . she was a trooper . I personally wouldn't want to have twins my body is way to tiny and it would probably kill me .

At about ten weeks they will start listening for the fetal heartbeat. At that time, your doctor should be able to either hear ONE fetal heart beat, or TWO.
