Obviously when you heard about the building plans, you had some objection ... or you wouldn't be asking this question. That is your "grounds" for objection. Go to the planning commission or write them a letter explaining what your complaint is, why you object to it, and what you would do to make it better.

you can object if the building is too high, also if it stands out from other buildings,If trees have to be cut down.
