i've seen some girls on tv have blush on their WHOLE cheeks... and i've seen obviously the ones that are to define the cheekbones. what is the trick, is it only for full faces that it looks good to put blush on the Whole cheek? for example, sometimes kristen kreuk from smallville has her blush in a large circle from her cheekbones practically down to her lips. would that look good on anyone, or just on people who don't have defined cheekbones?

here is the best way to apply blush, smile really wide and you will see the apples of your cheeks rub the blush in a circuliar motion and upward toward temples. remember you don't want people to see your make-up you want them to see you! dust a little down your nose and a little on your chin (very little) and you will get an all over rosy glow. i have seen some of those people you are talking about and what did we see their blush not them~

The average woman doesn't need blush as you are defining it on movie stars, celebrities, etc. All you need is some color. Perhaps a Neiman-Marcus, Macy's, Lord and Taylor make-up specialist could help you with this moreso than someone here trying to tell you how to do it. You must also remember that you normally see photographs of celebrities, not the celebrity herself. Most of them have make-up artists who apply make-up to these women knowing where they are going to be photographed (day, afternoon or night) and what they are going to be wearing.
These women don't always look good. We have all seen pictures of them withOUT makeup and not looking or dressed their best.
Your best bet is a makeup specialist who can instruct you as to what kind of make-up best suits your face. And remember regarding the "large circle" on the cheekbone of Kristen? It may have looked good on her and had a lot to do with the lighting. But in another situation, she may have looked like a clown.
See a specialist/expert.

i put it on my cheekbones and just a tinsy bit anywhere where the sun would hit the most naturally, like my nose and a little on my forehead and chin, and it seems to work for me. if you're looking for a great blush and overall wonderful makeup, get the bare essentuals starter kit. you can get it at sephora. it works really well for me, the blush in there is called warmth and i've never been happier with and any other make up. the blush is my favorite part. good luck to you and i hope you find what works!

As a makeup artist, here is my suggestion. Take your blush brush, swipe it in the blush, shake excess off the brush with one pop over your hand, with the flat side of the brush and the apples of your cheek, make 3 pops as you go toward your temple. One pop at the beginning of the apple of the cheeks by your nose, one in the middle of your cheeks and one at the top of your cheeks toward the end of your eye. Then with a powder brush, blend the color. I hope this helps.
