With The GOP Logic, if Democrats Agree with Bush on his New Plan, of Needing More Money, And Troops, will this give the Bush Admin an excuse to say its the Dem's fault if he is a failure?, and on the other hand, if Dem's Use oversight to determine what is best will the Bush Admin accept it or point fingers, Like they been doing along?

You mean it's a lose lose situation for the Democrats?

The dems are walking a tightrope. Their victory wasn't overwhelming, and if they misstep it will have consequences in two years. They need to get over the party after the election and get to work.

I think the "no impeachment," thing will hurt them. They did it to appease nervous GOP and put the rest of the country at ease (seeing what the country went through with the Starr/Clinton fiasco). So if something happens, say there is something that the administration should be taken to task for, the dems hands are tied. They've in essence given GWB a "Get Out of Jail Free" card. No one should have that option.

GWB has it pretty good, from one perspective. Everyone, even a majority of the Soldiers in Iraq (see the Army Times) think the conflict in Iraq is being handled poorly. If the dems don't give in to GWB's wishes, he can blame them - and they will bear the responsibility of fixing the rest of the mess. If they GWB what he wants, he gets what he wants. He's kind if a Alfred E. Newman in this whole thing. "What, me worry?"

Democrats and Republicans WILL NEVER get along during the next two years, especially on the issue of Iraq. Democrats and Republicans are like the Boston Red Sox (Democrats) and the New York Yankees (Republicans) because they both Do Not Like Each Other and cannot work together like Infielders and Outfielders of the same Baseball Club.

If it were to work Bush would take all the Credit.. and although I'm sure he will try to brush some of it off.. he also gets the responsibility for failure... Bush has not done anything in 6 years to implicate that he is willing to take outside advice seriously for the Iraqi War.. I don't see why that will change now

Hopefully we will succeed, with or without Dem cooperation. Why do you want us to fail?

If Dems cooperate, there will be no blaming from Bush.

"Oversight" of military operations by Congress is wrong. The President is Comander in Chief. Congress has no legitimate oversight roll.

Knowing Bush, if the war is a failure he'll take full responsibility. But if we do lose, it will only be because the voices of dissent here in the US have worn down our will to fight. When the United States wants to win, it can't lose.
