I'm a white person that speaks english as my first language. I have lived in Mexico for 2 years now. I learned to speak spanish on the beach and then I went to school to learn proper spanish. Now that I've had a chance to travel around Mexico, I can tell you that there are more accents in Mexico than there is in the whole of the united states :) .
I live in a tourist town currently and do you know how I can tell the difference between someone that grew up in Mexico and someone that grew up in Cali? Word choice. It's like when americans fake a british accent. You can get the vowel sounds right, but if you don't have the right word choice than it's all wrong.
So you want to sound like a Mexican? Well I'll assume you mean a Mexico City sounding accent. Watch the prime time soap operas. Rebelde is good if you want some more of the younger slang and faster speech patterns. And for more formal spanish check out Amor en Custodia.

First of all I dont see the point in trying to sound like something that you dont. You should be happy whatever accent you have. But to answer your question the fastest way to get the accent is to be around other people with that accent. I myself am a white girl but how I have grown around mexicans when people hear me speak they ask me where Im from, that i have beautiful accent.

Go to mexico for about 8 months you'll come back with a accent. If thats too much hang around straight up mexicans and you'll start to sound like one.

What?? this question is confusing...
if you want more of the Mexican accent, why don't you hang out with cholos or something? Is that the Mexican accent you want?
Like a cholo accent? or like a new learner Mexican accent? anyway you are confusing.

To aquire any kind of accent, you need to be in an area that speaks primarily in that accent for long periods of time.
