They are near the bottom of the line when it comes to either sound or video quality and are the most expensive product on the market, and itunes has a similar problem with both quality and price.

There are 75 other brands that are not only less expensive but they have much better sound quality, they have more features, can download from more (and less expensive) sites and will play more types of files.
In order to get an ipod to do anything, you need to fork out big bucks for external devices, while the other players have these features built right into the device.

So all of you iPod owners who have answered the question, are you really that ignorant of quality that you think what you have is actually GOOD quality on the iPod?? No offense, but a comparison of Creative, Sandisk, Archos, Panisonic vs iPod the others leave the iPod in the dust in all features, sound and video user friendliness and price.

iPods win by default anyway. You probably do not recall the great VCR wars between the technologically superior Betamax cassettes from Sony and the inferior but cheaper to build VHS system others introduced.

What won the war was that everybody started making and carrying stuff for the VHS- it just became the leader by being there more- by drowning out the better Betamax systems with sheer presence.

iPods are good devices that work pretty well for a pocketable device. They don't do radio because the marketing studies showed that most people don't use the radio feature if available. Fewer people use the voice recorder options- and we know this from several years experience with other devices as well.

iPods can download from plenty of sites- pretty much anyone that uses MP3 format, and iTunes is a slick interface that works better than most others for the average user.

iPods are not my favorite device, but sour grapes'ing them is not fair either.

i offered one in simple terms so i'd desire to positioned my finished CD library on it. That way i don't would desire to hold around a gaggle of cd situations; I certainly have all my track interior the palm of my hand. i understand that appears like a comercial or something yet for me this is the fact. i take advantage of the Ipod at the same time as understanding, cycling, and using my vehicle. My journey as a result a approaches has been mind-blowing and that i could actual say this is properly well worth the value and time. with the aid of the way, it took me a pair of month to function all of my CDs onto my computing gadget. then back, that's a small value to pay.

I happen to really enjoy my ipod. I have yet to see any other mp3 players get their own adaptor as a new car option.
oh, and the aux jack doesn't count. there are several car makers that off an iPod adaptor for like 125

i dont know. i have an ipod and i love it, its one of my best friends lol =P.
i think it is expensive but its worth buying, all the other devices i've seen look cheap and have bad quality (most of them anyway) and ipods come in color and some can store from 1,000 - 5,000 songs. plus they are really comfortable and enjoyable.
so i think its totally worth it, but that's just my opinion.
