How times change! Was all the rage in the 70s, with Beano characters being whacked on a weekly basis. My husband got it at school and my mum kept a flip flop just for smacking (yes, social services have been informed!). Has slippering died a death or just gone underground like dog fighting?

This is the reason so many kids are labelled ADD! They don't need medication, they need a flip flop acroos their behind!!! My daughter gets it and so do my nieces and nephews.

Never got the slipper but did get the belt and the yard stick growing up! I do think that "smacking" has decreased substantially - too much social "political correctness". Not that I enjoyed it or anything but even the threat of it worked!

Thats why these children are crazy today. I use to get the smack down, beat down with anything my momma could put her hand on and I turned out OK. Parents today or scared of their kids. They want to be their friends. Whatever!!!
