Most people have a problem with just cloning. To think that they would even think to try and create a new species is horrific. I'm not a religious person at all, but we were all created the way we were for a reason. Only (enter your beliefs diety here) can create new creatures or destroy the old ones.

Interesting as cross breeding may be in books and movies, in reality it's quite a bizarre thought!

Well Shiela, This technology IS in it's infancy so there's really no telling just what impact it would have if it were allowed out of the research stage. Having said that I would quite cretainly advocate that it be restricted to high security research for the time being.

Not yet.
Human cloning isn't yet allowed because of the ratio of birth defects to successful attempts. Until the technology has improved considerably, so that there's a better chance of good success, experimenting with humans shouldn't be allowed.

What makes you think it would be a super species anyway. Can you imagine if humans were more animalistic than we are now I would hate to even think about it; a canabilistic, raving beast who eats other humans and who is smart enough to figure out how to do it; sounds like a psychopath.

The results might be . . . fascinating. I think hyperintelligent dolphins with the ability to curse in Maltese would make very cute pets, so my final answer is, "Certainly!"

HEAVEN FORBID THAT IT IS EVEN THINKABLE. THE REAL QUESTION IS WHY ARE SCIENTISTS WASTING THEIR TIME ON SILLY THINGS LIKE THIS WHEN THEY SHOULD REALLY BE TRYING TO CURE CANCER - OR SOMETHING THAT MATTERS!
