My friend was dropped FROM her classes (by the professors) because she did not attend them- there is a reson behind this but I dont have enough characters to explain it, LOL.

If you are dropped from your classes do you get an automatic F? Or it just doesnt count and you are left responsible for payin for it?

It depends really on if the "drop" was done before or after the "drop/add period." It also depends on the State.

In Georgia if you do not attend any of your first classes of the semester/quarter without proper reason then you can be dropped by the Professor. This is in the "drop/add period" so you will be refunded the money for the class, BUT the dropped class will count negatively on you Hope Scholarship. If you have too many dropped classes in one year/semester, you will lose your scholarship.

If you are dropped after the "drop/add period" you will fail and not be refunded the money. Unless, of course, you have a valid medical/other excuse and understanding administration team, then you could just get an "I" for incomplete, but still have to pay for the class.

The answer to this question entirely depends on where you attend school. I have attended and visited several colleges, and the answer would have been different at each. You should contact the Registrar's office and/or search the school's website for a .pdf or electronic version of the student handbook to know for sure.

Generally, however, this early in the semester, being dropped from a class by a prof due to non-attendance is exactly like dropping the class yourself. You will not be charged for the class, you will not earn a grade in the class, etc. Your friend's primary concern at this point is probably just to make sure she is still taking enough credits to maintain a full load of classes (if she is supposed to be a full-time student). However, please be sure to check with the Registrar and review the student handbook at your school so that you can know for sure.

Better safe than sorry--always!

It depends on how it is characterized. Most professors will issue an automatic F if the class is not attended. Some will give an I, which means incomplete but still counts against the grade point as an F. Very few will withdraw the student, which would be the only way for it to not affect her gradepoint.
She should have withdrawn from her classes before she was dropped, it doens't look great to have a bunch of W, but it saves the GPA.

I like how people always say "my friend". Just kidding, hun.

At the college I attended, if you dropped a class, you simply didn't get the credits. You didn't get an F. As long as she still has enough credits to be considered full-time, or if she picks up another class, she shouldn't see a change in the semester bill. I imagine that since the prof dropped her, it would be the same deal.

At my school it is up to you to drop the class. If you were not attending the class you would just have an F. If they drop you from your class it usually because you have not paid your tuition and it would not count against you. Usually if it is at the beginning of the semester you wouldn't have to pay for the class but if it is pass the drop date then you would have to pay for the class. She may want to check and see if they only dropped that one class.

If you are dropped you will not get a grade for the class so it will not count against you. Most Univirsities will make you pay for the class if it is after a certain date. Usually if you were in the class for a good amount of the semester you will have to pay for it.

if you drop a class on your grade report, for the college that I go to you get some notification that you droped the class, on the other hand if you payed cash for your class or got a third party to pay for it you don't owe anything, but if you get a pell grant, you will have to pay half of what you don't use back if you get droped or you just drop out yourself. Its a way for the college to make more money.

If it is early enough in the semester then she could get a portion of her money back. No you do not get an F you will get an Incomplete which does not count against your GPA but you must drop it before a certain date of otherwise she will get an F.

It depends on the rules and regulations of the institution. Your friend should go directly to the registrar and begin asking questions about her status. If she waits or lets it go she could be in a real mess.

It depends on when the professor dropped her.

She may receive 50% of her money back or nothing. She personally should have dropped the class herself....
