Blair cut short his holiday because the surrender terms (aka power sharing) are difficult for the Democratic Unionist Party to get their head around.
The sycophantic, cowardly, egotist surrender monkey Blair responded to the breakdown by lauding Sinn Fein(aka IRA bombers in suits)as "the most remarkable examples of leadership I have come across in modern politics," .
AS for the DUP ,well ,i guess defending the British ppl who live in British territory, wanting to be ruled by britain dont get a mention.
Isnt it enough that soldiers ,innocent civilians ,children in shopping centres have been blown to pieces by these scum, who have managed to murder their way to the negotiating table?Even having seats in parliament with £100 000 expense allowances, thus proving the effectiveness of terrorism, when one can reinvent oneself as a politician after a career of murder, extortion, thuggery, drug dealing and bank robbery.
Only in Blairs government!

Well ,after reading some of the answers,I am ashamed to be british.
To think of the fine young men and women who died defending our country through so many conflicts.Just so that ppl like you can stab your fellow countrymen of Northern Ireland in the back.
Why should we compromise? Its ours and thats how the ppl of northern ireland want to remain.Would you compromise if someone wanted to take your child from you,and threatened to damage your family and property if you didnt?
Get a grip , youre not fit to call yourselves british!

FAT CONTROLLER.
No agreement of mrs thatcher involved "power sharing"(aka the first half of total surrender)
Ending terrorist activity because Blair promises to give what you demand is still terrorism.I accept there will be peace, but on their terms!
Its a nazi symbol because i like it.Are you really the fat controller?
Again, the ppl of northern Ireland want to remain british.Im sorry but i would rather continue to fight to protect our principles and our ppl then have peace terms dictated by the enemy.

Mandela was a terrorist and is still thought of as a murderer by anyone who remembers his deeds. Most young ppl are naive and associate his name only with the ending of apartheid to which he contributed nothing. The only difference is now, leaders are bound by political career restraints to acknowledge him as a great person. The no intellectual would be fooled so easily.

I agree with you 100%.
If it had not been for the wisdom and strength of Ian Paisley over the years the low class, gutless politicians we seem to regurgitate would have given it all away. "It is not theirs to give away"
I am proud that the people of Northern Ireland (Ulster) are part of the Union and fully support the stance of Ian Paisley.
The problem is that these multicultural self seeking corrupt politicians like Bliar and his hacks are not teaching our cultural history in the schools and the younger generation know very little about their own country and its history.
Roll on the next election and lets get a change.

A certain Mr McGuiness, and a certain Mr Adams used, a long time ago, to declare that there would be no peace until there was a united Ireland.
The 2 of them have, pragmatically, chosen to take a more softly, softly approach than their former selves would have done. There can be little doubt that their aims have not changed since they chose to present a more conciliatory face.
Weak governments, if one thinks that Northern Ireland should remain "British", have succumbed to the illusion that a political resolution that involves an independant Northern Ireland is possible, specially since Mr Adams and Mr Mcguiness have prevailed upon their friends to reduce their levels of terrorism. Though large parts of Northern Ireland are, effectively, policed` by the PRIA, who derive a large income from their localised rackets.
It is clear to anyone with half a brain that the Sinn Fein political party is merely passing time engaging in a longer term process that will involve the integration of Northen Ireland with Eire.
It is quite clear to me that the British government does not give a hoot what happens, so long as it happens quietly.
I dont, personally, care much, along with most of the country - it won't make much difference to us, but then we don't live there.
Mr Adams and Mr McGuiness were used to saying something along the lines of "no surrender until there is a united Ireland" - they will have their way, and they will never have surrendered.

Well you know absolutely nothing about the conflict in N. Ireland. There are two sets of people there - those who feel British and those who feel Irish. The war against the IRA could not be maintained and a stalemate was the only outcome. The IRA successfully fought the British for 30 years since the formation of the PIRA.
Not all people want to remain Britsh. The DUP don't represent all of the people in N. Ireland.
You don't seem to mention the innocent people who were blown to pieces or the RUC men and soldiers killed by the Loyalist terrorists.
The first police officer killed in the troubles was by Loyalists and so was the last!!! Did you know that it was Paisley, the leader of the DUP, who caused the workers strike and motivated Loyalist terroists to kill, maim and bomb. Did you know that Paisley formed his own terror group called the 3rd Force? He is also a politcian and so called man of God!!!
Would you rather have a peace process or would you rather bombs going off on a weekly basis in N. Ireland and the British mainland?
I am from Belfast in N. Ireland and lived with daily bombings and shootings and know now what it is like to walk the streets in relative safety without fear of being shot at or a bomb going off. If you asked the people of N. Ireland if their lives are better than 10 years ago then they would say yes. They would call you a first class prick who knows nothing about the N. Ireland situation save what you read in the Daily Star!

fact in 1985 thatcher signed the original treaty that has slowly lead to a peaceful resolution to the Irish issues.
i totally abhor terrorist action in any form but. if those terrorists can prove that they are now working within democracy as are sein fein and say nelson Mandela who was classed as a terrorist by the government of the time but went on to be a world respected leader supporting democracy in theory Gerry Adams of this world should be encouraged to follow democracy not terrorism. I if you consider your self a patriot then you should agree with this view. that doesn't mean to say that you have to agree to every word any politician utters just the principles that allow him and you for that matter to . Also why the Nazi symbol if you are a British patriot
Speaking as some one who has family ties with both sides the biggest danger to peace is entrenchment on both sides. I don't like Blair but i doubt anyone else would have done any better. you cannot be at peace with your enemy therefore if you accept that peace has come then you have no enemy only a group that has differing views

I could desire to trust Dave O, you do no longer seem to make certain the full image. i will comprehend your patriotic view yet i do on no account bear in ideas a referendum in Northern eire to come back to a sort no remember if the province could desire to stay governed by potential of the British government and that i might urge you to envision the Nuala O' loan article Dave O talked approximately in his answer. for some years British forces have been suspected of collusion with loyalist terrorists and the aforementioned article makes annoying, rather than exciting analyzing certainly. I too as an Irish citizen won't be able to condone the violence that the two side has been subjected to over the years yet enable's no longer be unfavorable approximately what's useful progression. you utilize the term "renounce" to the IRA while all facets have compromised to realize the present factor. each and every time and anyplace there is conflict in the international the only come to a sort is compromise because of the fact as we've considered with modern circumstances, till all facets are arranged to speak the killing keeps. So attempt to be slightly extra useful and do away with that image.... it rather is disgusting and shows you as a bigot.

Brussels may be the capital of Belgium and may be the principal seat of the Belgian Royal Family and, also the capital of the European Union and if you wish to know it then here is the place hotelbye . Brussels is a remarkably little, easy-going, and human-sized town for all its importance. Unlike anthers town with their millions of tourists, Brussels is Belgium's principal financial and educational link, gives the town a far more workaday sense than different towns. Here, in Brussels, if you would decide to see, you will receive a correct feel for Belgian life, specially its excellent cafe and café culture. Although Brussels may possibly not need the celebrity attractions of different Belgian cities, the capital has plenty of to keep guests occupied for a few days with a clutch of world-class museums and art galleries, along with quirkier views like the Atomium, and some great remnants of previous structure in the previous community quarter.

Whatever You Say, Say Nothing

Oh super, another rational question poster with no axe to grind...
Neither side is going to get what they want all of the time, so compromise is the next best thing. Sure YOU haven't got all you want (and you don't like it), but it's better than not having anything at all...
NI wants peace, no more guns, no more blood, no more soldiers, just talk and healing.
Remember the Good Friday Agreement occurred under this (now unpopular) British PM...that was hailed on all sides.

6 years ago, Blair was among the few leaders in the Free World with the courage to fight terrorism.
You Brits have been pounding him in the public arena for this for a long time, and now he's had enough and he's backing down.
You've gotten what you asked for. Forget about the IRA, Brits need to decide what to do with all those radical Muslims trainng and raising funds in London. You're going to put a Chiraque into Downing Street if you're not careful.
