Others have noted this. From Wikipedia: 'Punt is also noted for his striking resemblance to famous Monty Python actor Eric Idle'. No relation, as far as anyone knows, but with such a resemblance, who knows? If they traced their family trees back, they could be related!

I don't see a similarity between them,, but I did think Ruby from eastenders resembled Eric Idle
