Sounds stupid but if we put a tracking device into every baby we can monitor where everyone is by a government controlled network. You might think this an invasion of privacy but what if the government had to get a warrent to actually search the records, so if there's a murder we can instantly know who did it or if a child is missing you can find it in minutes. C'mon it's a no brainer.

You know that is a good idea. I don't know if many parents would like some tracking device installed into their kids, but you know what, if my two boys were really small and that was available, I would definately be interested in that. It would help a lot with missing children. And if it did come about and was accessable, I would think these idiot child molesters would finally leave the kids alone. And if a kid became missing, it would be fantastic for the law enforcement to track the missing child and bring that child home. Good idea. We already have a tracking device we can install into our pets and it doesn't seem to have hurt them in any way. It has helped to track lost pets. I like your way of thinking. My hat's off to you. Kudos.

No way!
There are certain things that should remain inaccessible, even if there might be a limited benefit. When you do something like that, you put too much faith in the fact that it will not be abused. But we are an imperfect race, and it will be. The very fact that there might be benefits to this is empirical proof of how imperfect we are. Case in point, look at the condition of our government right now. Do you really want THAT entity in charge of something so invasive?

The potential for abuse of such devices is very high. Would it be offset by the benefits? It would be a close call.

Benefits I see include:
No illegals problem for employers because they could be checked for status.
No need for passports as they would be in our bodies.
No need for ID checks for underage drinking, buying cigarettes, entering R & X rated movies by minors.

Abuses I can see include:
Nothing about you is private. If someone, your employer, doctor, police, store clerk, etc can see anything about your entire life.

How many people would want their lives public, even if they had nothing to hide? I wouldn't.

It is an invasion of privacy. Often there is an idea that increases safety at the cost of privacy. Usually people go with privacy over security. (At least it seems like that at the moment.)
